Welcome to CounterFlux Films

ad*ap*ta*tion (n.)

  1. Something, such as a device or mechanism, that is changed or changes so as to become suitable to a new or special application or situation.
  2. A composition that has been recast into a new form.
  3. Methodology used by Hollywood to butcher otherwise excellent original literary compositions.

CounterFlux Films' goal is to bring to the big screen short stories and other literary works that have been overlooked or ignored by the mainstream entertainment industry while maintaining the highest level of fidelity to the author's original vision.

By avoiding the Hollywood habits of "re-imagining" and "creative interpretation", CounterFlux Films hopes to present stories that are more than just "loosely based" on their source materials. The final results are films that aren't just pale shadows of original works, but rather faithful adaptations that maintain all of the spirit and originality of the books and stories that they are based on.

Hoping to introduce audiences to little- or unknown works, CounterFlux Films is willing to take risks on what properties to pursue, believing that once an author or producer sees what CounterFlux has to offer, projects can be swiftly developed.
