9/5/97 - Letter? I hardly know 'er!

It's time for a new feature here on the big bad introduction page. Yes, it's time for...

The PWC Emailbag!

As the popularity of this page continues to grow at an exponential rate, we here at Pinback's Web Central are receiving more and more feedback from our readers. Because this page exists primarily to serve you, we felt it was only reasonable to respond to some of these letters, while callously ignoring and deleting the others.

Our first email comes from "helpwanted1.com@backalley.poffice.com", who writes:
"Hello. Thought you would be interested in a company that does most of the work for you, thus assuring your success. Finally, NO Selling, no trying to talk your family and friends into another MLM! It takes only a few minutes and you are making money! Great for Mom's with a Computer. Stay home work 1 hr. If you would like to know more, please say YES in the subject line and send to freedom@tayvia.com. I will send you my file a.s.a.p.!"
Wow! I'm just...speechless! This reader was nice enough not only to send a note, but also to include what sounds to me like a really good opportunity to make some money. I was quite moved by this. I mean, I know I just do this webpage to inform and entertain, and I'm glad that folks are enjoying it, but for one of you to just come out of the blue, and include me in what is obviously a very special opportunity like that...I dunno. It just makes me feel really good. I can't thank you enough.

Our next letter comes from "llkjaflasdjfsaj@l", who writes...
"Check out the Hottest New Live Sex Site on the Net !!!

This is the kind of participation I like to see! Obviously a fan of the Wrong Links, this kind reader has apparently spent quite a bit of time searching the net, gathering data to bring back to me, so I can update the page, and make PWC the best damn site it can be. I think we all owe a debt of gratitude to llkjaflasdjfsaj, and I'd like the rest of you to go by his example!

Finally, we received this rather disturbing note from "Lou", who just happens to be a coworker of mine, and an avid PWC reader:
"Attention dti2k1 users:

With the current resource limitation on the 2000, I want to add another system board (2 cpu and 128MB ram) to boost the res. The planned outage will begin at noon today and last about 20 mins. PLEASE STOP ALL PROCESSING AND LOGOUT TO AVOID LOOSING ANY WORK!!!!!"
Now, I know he meant well with this stern warning, but I must admit I am a bit perturbed by this message, which is obviously not, in any way, related to this webpage. Listen, I put those feedback links in there for readers of this webpage to talk about this webpage, and I don't think it's appropriate for anyone to use them for their own personal or professional reasons. I don't want to be the "bad guy" here, but I've have to do whatever I can to keep this place running as smoothly as possible.

Well, I think that just about does it for the first episode of the Mailbag. There were a bunch of other letters about "hey, you're page is great" and "i like this or that", and other shit like that, but I just chucked 'em.
